 |  DIRECTORS LETTER - FEBRUARY 2008 From the Directors: As reviewed in past correspondence, the capital equipment purchases and clubhouse modifications are underway. Our latest golf equipment capital purchase has totalled R1.74 million and includes a host of specialised fairway mowers, transport vehicles and spray units (see photos in the January 2008 newsletter). In addition, we have committed to the purchase of several “new generation” style EZGO golf carts as part of our cart fleet. They should be arriving in late March. You probably have seen the modifications to the Sunset Terrace from the traditional dining setup to a more casual member lounge area. The adjacent outside balcony area has been partially enclosed via glass panels and is now the designated smoking area for our smoking members. Member dining has been moved to the Nautilus Room. Shortly you will be electronically receiving the Atlantic Beach Golf Club Member Satisfaction Survey. The format is identical to past surveys to ensure proper benchmarks and comparisons. We invite you to give your constructive input for our staff and your ideas are much appreciated. Lucky draw prizes will be available for those members who have completed the Member Satisfaction Survey.

The golf course has endured another windy period but we are sure that you will agree that it has improved dramatically from a year ago. The Technical Greens Team (inclusive of Ambassador/course designer Mark Muller) are currently finalizing the agronomic game plan for the next 12 months. We will have spent over R3 million on the golf course this financial year with a larger amount dedicated towards next year’s budget. The newly acquired equipment such as the new sprayer will feature in this new course upgrade program. We have asked them to fully outline this plan to our members when completed.
