September our first month of Spring has
flown by.
As you may be aware the course was closed temporarily on the 28th and 29th September in order to do our annual hollow tyning program. The course is playable immediately, but the greens could be a little bumpy for a week or two. This process aerates the greens and relieves compaction, bringing the course back to ‘TIP TOP’ condition. Well done to Allen Bland and his team for their hard work, and doing such a good job. On Wednesday the 14th October the club is hosting our annual Ladies Open, we are looking forward to the event, which has proven to be so popular over the years. Good luck to all those taking part, I believe there are some wonderful prizes that have been sponsored. DJ Mynhardt will be the evenings entertainment. So for those who haven’t booked a tee off time, or a dinner reservation yet, please give us a call on 021 553 2223 or 0804653258 (080golfclub) Don’t forget we have live entertainment every Friday night
in Sunset Terrace and Legends Bar. Bring along your friends and family
to enjoy the evening with us. Please note that the greens have just been hollow
tyned in preparation for summer. We apologize for the inconvenience but
should be back to normal in about 3 weeks. Also note that the course is
open on Mondays as well and times for booking are from 07.45 – 16.00
everyday.
Our new assistant Golf Professional Christo Pistorious will be running Junior Golf Clinics every Sunday afternoon. Please contact him through the Sports Centre on 0804653258 or 021 5532223. May we wish the Ladies League Teams the best of luck for their forthcoming league matches. Lastly please remember to book for the Inaugural Cup on the 17th October – AM and PM times available.
