The festive season is upon us, and what a year!  It gives us all a chance to look back and see what achievements we’ve made and sometimes blunders we’ve experienced.  All in all, the club has had a great year, and with a great TEAM in place, 2010 is going to be one of the best.  Especially with ‘The World Cup’, being one of the big hi-lights, and something we’re all looking forward to.
 
You may be aware that the Western Cape Nature Conservation department came to collect a handful of Springbok to relocate to game reserves along the West Coast.  We were advised that we require fresh blood in the heard, and have agreed to swop the ones taken for a new male.  We’ve been assured that the Springbok were transferred safely and have settled well into their new environment.

For those fortunate members that have achieved a ‘HOLE IN ONE’ I’m sure you’ll agree it’s an amazing achievement and a great feeling.  I would just like to clarify that to all the lucky folk that manage to achieve a ‘HOLE IN ONE’ the club do issue a voucher for R300 for drinks in the bar afterwards.  However, the voucher is for the day to capture the spirit and share with your fellow members present on the day to celebrate the event.

Finally, it is with great sadness that I will be leaving Atlantic Beach Golf Club.  It has been an amazing experience and I have thoroughly enjoyed the past four years.  I will be leaving with fond memories that will stay with me for a lifetime, of both the members and the awesome team that we’ve built up through my time here.  I wish to thank you all for your ongoing support.  Atlantic Beach Golf Club is very special to me, (the best “hidden little Gem on the West Coast") and I wish the team every success for the future.

On a positive note I have been offered a position at Clovelly in Fish Hoek, and I'm looking forward to the new and exciting challenges.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Allen Usher and Bill Taylor for trusting in me, and for the professional and personal development they have assisted me with over the last four years.

All that is left for me to say is I wish you all a wonderful Festive Season, for those traveling I wish you a safe journey and a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR.  Here’s hoping you all enjoy many MAGIC MOMENTS in 2010.
