· Amanda Forknall GENERAL MANAGER

In my role as General Manager with the combined efforts of the team, our Directors and the Ambassadors my vision is to maintain the high standards and constantly strive towards improving and building on our already successful 5 stars. Talking about 5 stars, we recently retained this status for the 3rd consecutive time. Mr Mark Burger will be presenting the award to the Team during this month. We are very proud to once again be honoured with this award. Along with maintaining our high standards I'm very excited moving forward, and encourage you to come and see our new developments happening at the club.

Our Food and Beverage are launching new menus, with enticing new ideas. I'd like to invite everyone to please join us to experience our new culinary delights presented by our terrific Executive Chef and his team.

Our Golf course team have worked extremely hard to combat the problems we experienced last year, so much so that the course is looking stunning. Well done lads!!!

Our Sports Centre Team have been equally as busy, the shop has been sourcing exquisite merchandise with products from leading golfing brands. Hopefully we can spot some trendy up-to-the-minute golfers on the field.

Our Membership Department continues to introduce market and monitor unique tailor made Membership Programs. The most recent offer being potential new members can join our exclusive 5 star facility at 50% discounted entrance fees and pay no subscriptions during the current financial year ending July 2007. The ongoing dedication is solely directed at member satisfaction.

Finally I'd like to thank our Directors for giving me this great opportunity, so far it's been a truly wonderful experience and I've learnt a lot from each and everybody. I look forward to the exciting days ahead!

Amanda Forknall
General Manager

· Allen Bland GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE

Rainfall:
11mm rain this month which brings our total to 55mm for the 2007 year.

Over and above our normal day to day maintenance routine we are currently also busy with the following projects:

Post and Rail:
Spraying the Kikuyu out of the fynbos along post & rail will be an ongoing process.

Greens:
As the soil analysis results indicate that there is a shortage of magnesium and potassium, we will be fertilizing the greens next month to rectify the shortages of magnesium and potassium. The elpher fertilise programme is still in progress. Greens will be lightly sanded towards the end of the month.

Tees & Fairways:
The soil analysis also indicated a shortage of magnesium and potassium, so we will be fertilizing the fairways to rectify. The fertilizing of all tees is still in progress. All fairways and semi roughs are in the process of being fertilised. Bare areas have been sodded at holes 4,5,11 & 13.

Kikuyu:
The test plot to eradicate kikuyu out of the cynodon will be sprayed before winter.

Landscape Areas:
The fynbos areas at no 15 are in the process of being landscaped, with veld grasses.

Projects:
The bunkers at No 15 green and No 3 fairway and green will be re-shaped. All compacted areas are in the process of being hollowtyned and fertilised. With the bunker at the driving range, we will be trying a new concept for the revetting of the bunker.

The Cats Tip of the month:
Golfers need to change their game plan for the winter, as the wind will be coming from the north west.

· Lorraine Langley LEISURE CENTRE

Dear Members

April has been a good month filled with activities at the Leisure Centre. During the school holidays we had a jumping castle for the kids and our two tennis coaches gave a tennis clinic that the kids enjoyed. Our movie night was a great success and we look forward to the next one. Please look out for our emails where we advertise all our events at the Leisure Centre. You can also go onto the web site to make sure you do not miss out.

To all our Heartbeat participants, you will be able to collect your Heartbeat rewards on the 7th July 2007. We will be putting up posters and mailing all members with more information on the event. Keep the date open!!

Please go to the website to see the new Heartbeat program for the year 2007 - 2008. We will be doing it a bit different and it will be more exciting next year. Thank you to all the members that bought into the program and we know it makes a difference in your lifestyle. Keep up the exercise program!!

We also offer Karate Jutsu at the Leisure Centre for all the kids. Please contact the Leisure Centre for more information.

We would like to remind every parent that the Leisure Centre staff will not sell any sweets or soft drinks to any child that pays with his parent's membership cards. The children have to present a letter from the parent's to say that you give them permission to buy or they need to pay cash for their purchase. All children under the age of 13 needs to be supervised when visiting the Leisure Centre.

We also say farewell to Charlene Coetzee, as she will be joining the Member Service Centre on the 1st of May 2007. All the best to her. We are also welcoming Simone Hayward as the new Leisure Centre Supervisor as from the 1st May 2007. I will still be at Atlantic Beach, but will be taking over the role as Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager. I just want to thank all members for supporting the Leisure Centre for the past five years, and to the Leisure Centre Team - keep up the good work!

Many Thanks
Lorraine

I would like to please remind all users of the driving range about dress regulations. Basically no jeans, t-shirts or open toe shoes permitted. Collared shirts, shorts (not running shorts) and short socks are permitted.

There are bucket packages available for all members and homeowners, so please ask at the Leisure Centre for further details.
