SPORTS CENTRE
Top
of the day to you all!!
Firstly to Francois & Elize Brand congrats on a beautiful baby girl, from
the Sports Centre Staff .May the bundle of joy fill your house with happiness.
A warm welcome to Craig Nell or should we say "welkom terug", as Craig
said the other day "Good to see the same old faces", welcome back Craig!
One of the attractions of the game of golf to me, is the game is played
to a set of universal rules and codes of conduct, wherever we might play
this wonderful game of ours. Then I ask myself how can golfers not turn
up for their tee-off time or be late on the tee? With the slightest bit
of wind or rain we have half of the golfers withdraw from a competition.
The sad part is that you have a poor fellow golfer who has slogged it
out in the office the whole week, just itching to get on the course and
could not get a tee-off time because it was full when he booked to play
( sorry Ernie, members get first option).
So come on guys let's play the game and if you can't, give somebody else
the chance who wants too.
In the next month or so we will be implementing a pay bag tag system.
When you pay for green fees or you are prepaid you will receive an identification
bag tag every time you play golf, to show that you have been through the
Sports Centre. The reason is that we have found golfers slipping onto
the course without paying for green fees. An example of this is that one
person comes in to pay and then collects his mate in the car park and
onto the course they go. When the marshal/starter asks for payment slips,
we could have ten different excuses. So we are trying to eradicate all
of this unpleasant situations.
Yours in Golf
