General
- Atlantic Beach is yet again in Complete Golfer’s Top 10; this time for one of the nicest views from the clubhouse. We do take it for granted, so next time the round of golf is not too great take a moment to enjoy the view from our bar.
- We are about to install a visible cigarette vending machine in the clubhouse – it will be a very unobtrusive, wall-mounted machine and will be available in the Nautilus Room.
- Allen and his team must be congratulated with the fantastic transformation of our greens and fairways.
- The sprigs inserted on the very bad areas on the damaged greens, have taken nicely and Allen is confident that it will grow nicely.
- Allen also created nice little features, with bark around the poles indicating the curbs on the cart paths.
- The problem patches on some of the greens will be cut out and new sods laid in – this will mainly be on the sloped areas, not too close to where pin placement might be.
- The poles on the sides of some fairways were regularly mistaken for aiming stakes, so we’ve decided to remove it - we rely on the honesty of the players to determine the point where to drop when the post & rail fence is crossed.
- The course will now be open on Mondays and the first tee-time is 07h00, or join us at 06h00 for the Day Breaker Special – 9 holes of golf and a Birdie Breakfast – no need to book.
- Please note that no carts are allowed on the left and behind the 10th green, please follow the path.
- Anyone interested in joining the Harry Solomon league teams, please put your name down with Tony Louw – qualifying handicaps 10 to 18

 Sheldon walks into a pharmacy and asks the assistant for an anal deodorant. The assistant explains that they don’t stock them. Sheldon insists that he bought his last one from this store. The assistant passes him on to the pharmacist, who explains that his store has never stocked such an item. Sheldon explains he bought his last one from this store only weeks ago and has done for several years. The pharmacist asks Sheldon to bring in his last purchase and he will try to match the product. The following day, Sheldon returns to the pharmacy and shows the deodorant to the pharmacist. The pharmacist asks why the customer thinks this is an anal deodorant, when it is obviously of the underarm deostick variety. Sheldon explains that instructions on reverse state, "Push up bottom to use." |
